FACTS & FIGURES

In 1931, Hugo Eckener piloted the Graf on a three-day flight to Iceland (30 June - 3 July) in order to determine its performance in this region. This flight would be another good practice flight in the North performing a strong test before the planned Arctic Expedition Flight (1931 Polarfahrt) later that year. Aboard the airship were twelve people including Commander Eckener's daughter and Captain Hans von Schiller's wife. As there were no airship facilities...
