On 28 January 1938, the Third Reich issued a set of two postage stamps to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Nazi Party’s seizure of power - Machtergreifung. The term is specifically used to refer to the granting of governmental powers in the democratic and parliamentary Weimar Republic to the Nazi Party and its national conservative allies on 30 January 1933.
