These nine stamps were issued by the Reichspost between October 27 and November 9, 1939 to publicize the Buildings of the Third Reich. This is the first year of the war, so the surtax was for the Winter Relief Fund with all charities used for the war effort. The postmark on the top reads “Ein Volk hilft sich Selbst! ” meaning “A People Helps Itself!”
