FACTS & FIGURES
In 1941 the Reichspost replaced the long-running 1933 Hindenburg Medallion definitive series with a new release depicting Chancellor Adolf Hitler. Printing of the new stamps started in 1941 but the 10 Pf. and 12 Pf. denomination stamps were issued in 1942. The higher denomination stamps were printed in a larger format with the 42 Pf. value bearing the inscription "GROSSDEUTSCHES REICH" being issued in 1944.
