A 20-cent commemorative stamp honoring Franklin Delano Roosevelt was issued on the 100th anniversary of his birth, January 30, 1982, at his birthplace, Hyde Park, New York.
The First Day of Issue ceremony was held at the Roosevelt estate, where he and his wife, Eleanor, are buried. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the 32nd president of the United States. He took office in March 1933 and served until his death in 1945. He was the only US president to be elected four times, and he died while in office, less than a month before the end of World War II.
