On November 5, 1934, the Reich Post Office issued two stamps to commemorate the 175th Birth Anniversary of Friedrich von Schiller. Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller was a leading German dramatist, poet, and literary theorist considered to be Germany's most important classical playwright. He was one of the founders of modern German literature with contribution also in philosophy, in the areas of ethics and aesthetics.
