The first flight of Graf Zeppelin in 1931 was to Budapest following an official invitation by Admiral Miklós Horthy (1920-1944), the regent of the Kingdom of Hungary. On Sunday March 29, at 8 o'clock the airship landed at Csepel airport (owned by Manfred Weiss Steel and Metal Works) in front of a huge crowd of 30,000 people that gathered to have a closer look at the amazing 60-ton flying "silver cigar".
