Stamps present the Hindenburg medallion crafted by medal maker Karl Xaver Goetz (1875-1950). This definitive set came to replace values from the former definitive set (1928-32) depicting the portrait of ex President Friedrich Ebert (1871-1925). Hitler wanted to quickly disassociate Germany from the former Weimar Government while at the same time President Hindenburg was deliberately presented as a fundamental pillar of the Nazi Regime.
