FACTS & FIGURES
On October 24, 1943 the Reichspost issued a stamp to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the foundation of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck. This is the first time that the inscription ‘GROSSDEUTSCHES REICH’ is used instead of ‘DEUTSCHES REICH’. The official name of the state changed to Großdeutsches Reich (Greater German Reich) from 1943 to 1945.
