On November 9, 1944, the Reichspost issued a stamp to commemorate the 21st Anniversary of the Munich Beer Hall Putsch and honour those who died for the Nazi movement. From November 8 to November 9, 1923, Adolf Hitler and his followers staged the Beer Hall Putsch in Munich. On the evening of November 8, 1923, leaders of the Bavarian government were holding a rally at the Bürgerbräukeller, one of Munich's largest beer halls, before 3,000 spectators.
