On July 2nd, 1944, the Reichspost issued two stamps to commemorate the 7th Tyrolean Shooting Competition held in Innsbruck, Austria. The Reichsgau Tirol-Vorarlberg was an administrative division of Nazi Germany consisting of Vorarlberg and North Tyrol in Austria, in the heart of the Alps. Tyrol’s history dates back to the 5th century AD and military crafts and tradition were strongly bonded to its inhabitants’ daily life and culture.
