This is the second preferential issue by “Aero Espresso Italiana (AEI)” for the forwarding of air mail from Greece to Italy and Turkey. The issue commemorates the first flight (29th of May 1933) of the airship Graf Zeppelin D-LZ127 from Friedrichshafen, Germany to Rome in order to collect all correspondence destined for South America. The Graf Zeppelin was not to fly to Greece, but to collect the Greek letters in Rome where they had been flown by AEI.
The mail sack from Greece would be flown on the return flight, either to Berlin or to Brazil. If the designation of any letter was outside Europe, it would continue with the Graf Zeppelin on the Second South America Flight of 1933...
